Amba mata mandir is a Spiritual Centre of Amravati.
The Temple of Ambadevi is situated at Gandhi Chowk is the heart of the Amravati.
For those who don’t know, Amravati is a city located in the Vidarbha region of Maharashtra. Ambadevi is the ‘Goddess of Shakti’. The Goddess of Shakti is popular all over Maharashtra, every year many devotees from different parts of Maharashtra come to worship Devi Mata.

· About Amba Mata Mandir
This temple is here for one thousand plus years ago and tills it stands with pride. There are many stories related to the temple. In 1500 Mughal army nearly destroyed the whole temple but, around 1660 Shri Janardhan Swami reconstructed the temple.
· Daily routine of Temple
The daily routine of the temple is the same on all normal days except for Navratri and Tuesday. On all normal days, there are three arati’s happen in the temple daily i.e. Morning, Afternoon, and Evening.
In Morning, after a bath of Devi Mata arati begins, this is the first arati of the day. Then,
In the Afternoon, the second arati of the day begins after a meal of Devi Mata, In Marathi, that meal is called Naivadya.
For the Evening there are two times!!

“Let's see…”
In Summer duration of the day is big, so for that particular duration the timing of arati is 7:30 pm and,
In Winter when the sun sets early, for that time the time of the arati is 7 pm.
· Navratri Festival in Devi Mata’s Temple
Navaratri is one of the biggest festivals in India. It is celebrated all over India, so also in Amravati.
During the period of Navratri Amravati city’s picture is totally different, half of Amravati wakes up early morning around 3 am and from around 4 am seeking the blessing of Devi Mata starts.
From early morning, the area around temple-like Gandhi chowk, amba gate, and Jawahar gate gets full because of the rush. Due to the crowd from Rajkamal chowk, there is no vehicle zone.
For all nine days, the atmosphere in Amravati becomes totally spiritual.
· Shri Krishna’s Connection with Temple

You are surprised that what is a connection between Amba Mata Mandir Amravati and Shri Krishna. There are mythological tales or theories for that incident.
In ancient times Kaundinyapur is the capital of the Vidarbha Kingdom. Kaundinyapur is a village that is around 44 km from Amravati. According to the mythological story, when Shri Krishna kidnapped Devi Rukmini they rested there for a while and from Kaundinyapur to Amba Mata mandir there is a tunnel from which they travel hide from Devi Rukmini’s family.
And, whenever you visit Ambadevi temple you can see that tunnel’s end but can’t enter it, because due to some reasons the government closed that tunnel.

· How to reach Ambadevi Temple
As we already discuss Ambadevi is situated at Gandhi Chowk, near Rajkamal chowk. Rajkamal Chowk is the main square in Amravati.
Devi Mata’s Temple is about 1.5 km from Amravati Railway Station and 2 km from Main Bus Stand.
Also, local auto-rickshaws are available from both Amravati Railway Station and Bus Stand.
And be frank with you…... you have to pay only Rs. 10/Person for auto-rickshaws!!
