As a Maharashtrians we proud that the unique dish Gulpatti is a gift from Maharashtra to the world.  

We Indians are versatile about everything. Our food habits, culture, entertainment, fun is different from the whole world.

As an Indian you must know that we love to eat [also some live to eat!] and also a sweet the dish is the inseparable part of our food.

Without sweet dish our food is incomplete.

As we know there will be a vast number of sweet dishes.

But, here we will discuss the sweet dish which is tasty as well as healthy also.

“What? Sweet and Healthy?!”

‘Yeah… you hear right’

‘Sweet as well as Healthy also!’

You must already have heard about it before, some called it chikki, peanut chikki, etc.

But many Indians, mostly Maharashtrians called it or known it as a Gulpatti.

It is one of mouth-watering sweet in India.

Gulpatti is made up of raw peanuts and Gul or jaggery. So due to its ingredients, it is Sweet to Eat and Healthy to Digest.

Jaggery or Gul it helps to purify blood and Peanuts helpful as a protein supplement.

According to ingredients and region it has various names.

In some regions of Maharashtra itself, it is famous as a Chikki.

In the region of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh, this is called Layiya Patti and in Sindh regions of India, it is known as Lai. In Bangladesh, it is called as Gur Badam.

Everyone loves to eat it as a snack.

While traveling it becomes the best buddy of our as well as our stomach also!

Lonavala and Gandhi gram is two cities which are famous for Gulpatti.

Lonavala is the hill station in Pune. It is famous for only two things one is nature and the second is Gulpatti, which is here known as chikki.

Gulpatti Sweet Dish

Let’s take a look at Gulpatti Recipe:


1. Take readymade roasted peanuts. If readymade peanuts not available, take a pan and add some peanuts to it. Roast them until they turn light brown in color. Then remove their skin and split each peanut into two parts.

    2.    Then, we have to convert jaggery into semi-liquid state, so first of all, cut jaggery into pieces with the help of knife.

    3.    Then take a pot or pan on gas on medium setting, pour one glass water in it and then add some cut jaggery in it.

    4.    Stir it continuously so after some time jaggery starts to melt.

    5.    After around 10 minutes jaggery become fully semi-liquid.

    6.    Mix semi-liquid jaggery and roasted peanuts for some minutes.
 
    7.    Take a tray to apply some butter in it and pour the whole mixture into the tray carefully. Leave it for little cooling.

    8.    Then serve it and enjoy it with family!!
